Driving on Vacation.. Making Decisions Romans 10:8-13 8-26-01

Sermon 8-26-01 Romans 10:8-13

Driving on vacation….making decisions
Trying to pick out clothes..decisions…We all have them to make

About Christ
Jesus in gospels frees many from the demonic
I have seen it, faced it, watched God overcome it
Light dispels darkness
This is largely not our problem…we don’t see ourselves as lost

But friends….We fall more into category of mary and Martha [Luke 10]
Lost in the stuff of life
Not identifiable evil, but an evil diversion just the same
Too many activites
Poor priority choices
Too much selfishness

When was the last time you called upon the lord
Not a one time thing
An ongoing process of commitment and submission
One experience with Christ may carry you to heaven
But it will not sustain you in the day to day of life

Being a good person does not open the gates of heaven
Hare Krishna…no reincarnation
Given to man once to die, then the judgement [Heb 9:27]
being a religious person does not open the gates
Attending church, memorizing the gospel of John

When your soul leaves your body on its final journey
If near death experience people are right…..You will travel thru the tunnel
You may see your activities in life
Softball, Sunday school teacher, friends you have made
But when you see the light at the end of the tunnel
Only one thing is going to be on your mind
I am so glad that I know Jesus Christ

If you are here today and you are lost in the stuff
Time to call upon the lord
Trouble in business, at home
Struggle with whatever
Call upon the name of the lord

Invite them to pray…….Song "the altar"
