Work of the Holy Spirit Part 4 Jeremiah 20:7-9 7-21-02

Sermon – Work of the Holy Spirit, Part 4 7-21-02
Holy spirit empowers us to go, do

Raising Children…they are all different
We work with them in different ways to accomplish purpose
Means may be different, end target is the same, fulfill potential

I cant not do it
Jeremiah 20:7-9
Fire in the bones
Overcome by it

I want to do this
Is 6:5-8
Volunteer for it

I don’t want to do this
Annanias and Paul/Saul acts 9:10-14
Moved forward with fear and trembling
Man on vine at cliff…is there anyone else there?

I feel nothing. I either will, or wont do what is right
Totally unmotivated other than the right thing to do
Mt 21:28-32
Matters not the feeling, just the willingness

Where do we go from here?
Wesley give me 50 preachers fully committed and I will give England back to God

What will we do?
What is god calling me to do?
As an individual, a family, a church?

As I consider the stories of these 5 people,
There is only one of them that I don’t want to be

How about you?

Jeremiah29 05-21-00

Jeremiah29 5-21-00

Story from 20-20 of 12 year old Jewish boy
God’s plan for the jews
Gentiles were grafted into the tree Romans 11
God has a plan for everyone
Separation comes not for not knowing, but for rejecting

Find the ways, the time, the tempo
A 4 year old is usually not ready for salvation
Age of accountability
Lay the foundation, be ready for their questions
Patient with those around us [adults too]

God was patient with Israel
They went into exile
We all have times of thirst….
Young & old, church leaders, everyone
Trip to clarksville ark

Diet coke, pizza, hang out with friends
Beyond that there is a deeper level of need

20-20 revisited…..others believe in many ways
catholics?
Methodists?

What I know about God
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness
They shall be filled Matt 5

You shall seek me, you shall find me

Prayer

As the deer
