Little crèche….manger scene, plastic stable as a kid
Who was present at the manger
Shepherds
Mary
Joseph
Baby jesus
Angels….luke 2….when the angels had left them and gone into heaven
Probably still angels there
Wisemen……..buzz….
Upsets my equilibrium about the entire story
Wise men were not there
Came to a house not a stable
Found a child, not an infant
No mention in their visit of shepherds present
Reported to herod they had traveled 2 years, herod took that to mean that
the child was 2 yrs or younger
Slaughter of innocents
When they found him, they worshipped him
Whether at stable or a house, they worshipped him
They were present and accounted for
Sometimes people are not present for chirstmas
They have passed away
They are disengaged
They are worried about stuff, presents
They are worried about the show
How to engage in the real meaning of chrismtas
Follow the wise men
Go out of your way to find Jesus
Bring him a gift
Bend the knee
