a canoeing lesson
bad things that can happen in a canoe
wind...rough waters...leaches...
the guy in back needs to steer it
so lets talk about life...lets talk about the scripture
our human nature wants to positions of power...
we want to control our own destiny
we want to be exalted
but this is not the example of Jesus Christ
scripture...humbles himself...
incarnation...like us laying in a sewer, or becoming a bird
we were not designed to steer the canoe
you want to be successful in the christian life...go lose the battle
this ollowing Jesus Christ is not a Sunday only thing...
lordship means...we are led, directed, submitted
Lordship of Jesus Christ is at the heart of the Christian faith
take it away, nothing left
following Jesus will help steer it all
speech, attitude, finances, all of our living and relating
when the wind comes up and the current is strong...remember
only he can calm the storm...only he can steer the boat
whenever you have been, what ever direction you have been going,
I invite you to turn over the helm to the Lord
the sea of life is best navigated when Jesus Christ is at the helm.
