Brokers of Life Isaiah 55
My broker in Princeton does a great job. She has very little to work with, yet she is responsible to do the best she can with what she has been given.
We are the brokers of the Word of Life. We have heard and received the life-saving news that leads to salvation.
I have seen you give the Words of Life to those in need:
1. Comforting those who were going through divorce...not taking sides.
2. Feeding, giving, helping those who were sick.
3. Waiting with the Luthers 20 years for Laura Jane.
4. Welcoming Charles & Linda Wells.....and countless others.
5. I remember when George Polony died.
6. Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit with someone who was hungry for more of the Lord.
The question is never how well did we do last week, but how well are we doing now? Our infrastructure is under strain, our space is stretched, our energy is pressed.
Yet we are still brokers of life.....the message is still true. And if you are here today and you need to hear the message, here it is: the wounded can be healed, the thirsty soul can be satisfied, the hungry heart can still be filled, the lost can still be found. The needs are still real, but the message is still real too.
This is why we are talking about a bigger building. God will always have someone to declare His name. If Jeff quits...someone else will step in. If WCC quits...another church will take up the slack. But we do not want this. We want to fill the gap, for we are the brokers of life.
Today I invite you to the Lord's table, that you may feast on His greatness. But I also invite you to His table that you may give your time, your talents, your life, your all to offer the Good News to others.
We are the brokers of life. Do all you can to tell the story.
