Things I Have Seen - Acts 5:32-35 10/9/94

I have seen churches struggle
no visitation...we don't have to beat the bushes...God will send them
fall back financially until nothing was left
mercer...3 year plan
prayer meetings that turned into gossip sessions
buildings falling down around them
no vision...content to be where they were...lost the burden for the lost

NT Church
1. one heart and mind...focus on the cross

2. shared as God prospered them
CNN...cost of religion/Judaism
when people see the meaning they will give

3. testified with great power
excited about the good news

4. much grace was among them
we want the grace, but not the commitment

5. there were no needy amoung them

I have seen churches succeed
built and paid for buildings
start new classes and programs...reaching more folks
missions awareness raised
financial woes ended
reached out to the lost

We are very insulated...complacency can set in
there is no middle ground

consider your level of commitment...
the mafia buy off...protection money

don't be satisfied with mediocrity...
nothing better than being used by God to work positive change
the good news from God is that we can more forward

Let's find our God, lets move forward together
