Sermon 9-9-01 When God seems far away psalm 10

Pharmacist who diluted drugs…..could have helped, but hurt instead
How many times I wished I had the innoculation of grace & forgiveness
Ronnie Sawyer…..faced death with true faith
I wanted to withdraw some of what was in her and inject it into others
Someone Felt God's touch/call for 1st time in life…so cool
I was glad they had the experience
I wanted to withdraw some of it and be able to inject it into so many others who yearn for God

Yearning of the psalmist
We don’t want to feel a distance from God
Why is this bad stuff happening?
Why do the wicked prevail?
Writer of ecclesiasties…I have seen it all
It is not possible to feel God's presence all the time

But we still have to keep doing the right things
You still have to go home
Take our kids to youth group
Sometimes you have to plant your feet on the ground
I will not be moved “He is my rock & my foundation” Psalm 62

Our relationship with him is not based on how we feel
Its based on truth
The psalmist has faith inspite of his struggles
This is the truth of God with us
He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother Prov 18

You may never have felt his presence in your life
You may be in the midst of a struggle
You may wish circumstances in your life were different.
You may have committed attrocious sins.

None of this will drive him away
He is there. Keep following, keep believing
Jesus is the same yesterday today tomorrow.
He is there. Stand up in your trials and put your faith in him
He is still there and he will come thru for you
