Let perseverance work its work
If a person had 12 days in which they were worried about death, what would they think about…..what can we understand about living
What are you about? what does it mean to be alive?
What do you learn about yourself during such a time
Can you let these struggles of faith work their work???
Things I have learned………
1. Big F Fear
2. Your friends come out of the woodwork
3. speaking of friends, a friend called…..God isn’t offended by our humanness--- God takes us just the way we are………
4. 80% of what I think is important, isn’t
5 If I have been with you all of these years, I am with you now
The old footprints story
6. live in today, not waiting for Christmas
Enjoy this moment, not the next
look at every flower, every tree…your children’s faces
7. Everyone should dance when you wake up in the morning
every day is a gift
Sense of gratitude-if you can find something to be thankful for, you will always be happy
Gives you a take on trouble…..
If this is the worst thing for me today….then I am having a great day.
8. Surrender….cathy’s prayers
9. No matter what, it will be ok
10. Peace….I cant do anything about this
Resignation
Went to see a counselor during this time……..what do you think about
Dr Ira Byock
The Four Things That Matter Most"Please forgive me. I forgive you. Thank you. I love you." These four simple statements are a powerful tool for easing suffering of people facing life's end - themselves or a loved one - and preparing to say "Good-bye." They are about cleaning up and "becoming current" in our relationships with the people in our lives who matter most.
Its not about how you will die, it is about how you will choose to live….
Conclusion-Do our Christian lives change when we face terrible times
Is it possible that we normally just live a mix of Christianity and selfishness?
Is that enough to make it to heaven -Who decides…im glad its not me
When you die and go to heaven, it is your home
You are home…it’s a place you’ve already been
Your brain has already lived here
That is the relationship that we are striving for here and now
There are things for us to learn about life….ideas that will help us live lives of joy and purpose…..lets not wait for the trials that James talks of. Lets allow God by his holy spirit to work his work in us now.
